Chapter Philanthropy

"To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand"

Phi Mu's National philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and throughout the school year, we host events to raise money and gain support for this organization. We are lucky enough to have a CMN Hospital right down the road at Levine Children's Hospital!

In order to support Levine and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, we host events to raise money like Phi Hop, Carnation Sales, and Bonnamu as well as volunteering projects like making friendship bracelets and Star Jars!

Phi Hop is an annual event where we sell tickets for $5 each and make pancakes on campus from 9 PM to 1 AM during Philanthropy Week. We also feature events like Carnation Sales for Valentine's Day and a new project called Star Jars!

To make Star Jars we table in front of Trexler and collect written affirmations from the campus to fold into Origami stars. Then we distribute them to the kids at Levine Children's Hospital right up the road!

In the 2022-23 academic year, we were able to raise almost $900 through Phi Hop, Carnation Sales, and Bonnamu!

Our chapter is lucky enough to see the results of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through Levine's Children's Hospital which is just minutes away from campus. We go on hospital visits, which in the past have consisted of talking and interacting with the children and their parents, as well as making crafts. This provides each of our sisters the blessing to see our hard work pay off and be able to light up someone's day, even if it is just for a moment.

Some other organizations we have volunteered with as a group include Room in the Inn, Crisis Assistance Ministry, and Seacret Studios inside Levine!

Not to mention that each of our members is required to turn in 8 service hours per semester to make sure we dedicate time on our own to serving our community!
