Chapter Philanthropy

"To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand"

Phi Mu's National philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and throughout the school year, we host events to raise money and gain support for the cause. These events include Rise 'N Shine, a famous campus event to which students and faculty have the opportunity to buy a doughnut and orange juice for a fellow student, then surprising them with an early morning wake-up call. Another event is Reindeer Raiders where each sister walks through the residence halls to collect spare change to donate to CMNH. In 2016, we were able to host a monkey named Jorge on campus during Spring Carnival where for $3 the community was able to take a picture with him as he sat on their shoulder! With the help of Jorge, we were able to raise over $400 for CMNH!

Our chapter is lucky enough to see the results of CMNH through the Levine's Children's Hospital which is just minutes away from campus. We have hospital visits, which in the past have consisted of talking and interacting with the children and their parents, as well as making crafts. This provides each of our sisters the blessing to see our hard work pay off and to be able to light up someone's day, even if it is just for a moment.
